Lao Yang is a Hmong-American from North Carolina.
During the summer of 2004, he visited Thailand, the country where he
was born in a refugee camp. During his return to Thailand, Lao studied
the way the Hmong cultures in Thailand and American have manifested
themselves since he and his parents left 16 years ago. Lao also visited
Tham Krabok settlement, where the last 15,000 Hmong refugees in
Thailand will be emigrated to the United States over the next year.
This video montage was compiled by the
hilltribe.org team as a souvenir for Lao Yang. We show it here so that
you might get some sense of what Lao saw in his time here.
